Definition
A dehiscence zone that is part of an anther. [source: POC:curators]
Comment
Extends along the entire length of the anther and is observed as an indentation between the locules of each theca. Upon anther maturation, cell separation within the dehiscence zone allows the anther wall to break open and pollen to be released.
