Comment
Phloem pole pericycle cells are cells in the pericycle that are adjacent to the protophloem pole of a vascular bundle. Pericycle cells that are adjacent to other phloem cells in the vascular bundle are not considered phloem pole pericycle cells. Phloem pole pericycle cells are distinct from xylem pole pericycle cells in that they display cytoplasmic characteristics of a more differentiated status.
