Comment
Because subterranean interfascicular regions in potato tubers form before the subterranean tuber perimedullary zone expands (PO:0025063), in mature potato tubers, the subterranean tuber interfascicular regions persist as rays that extend from the central pith to the eyes or subterranean tuber axillary vegetative buds (PO:0025042).
